Jerrold Sol Rosenbaum

He was from very humble beginnings but his family stressed education and Jerrold was very smart, skipping third grade. Jerrold and his parents moved to Jacksonville, Florida when Jerrold was in college and he transferred to University of Florida. They opened Arlington Men and Boys Shop and later The Matador. It is while running these stores that he met his first wife Ronnie. Ronnie’s parents had a store called The Vogue Shops at the same strip mall where Jerrold’s store was located. It was love at first sight! They married after Jerrold graduated and then had two daughters. Jerrold and Ronnie were inseparable during their 38 years of marriage. They were entrepreneurs – ahead of their time - and opened many stores together, Body Shop, Jarrods, Katmandu in all totaling about 300 stores nationwide.

Jerrold and Ronnie had a wonder lust. They traveled extensively all over the world. Jerrold got his pilot’s license, which later inspired his grandson Brad to do the same. Jerrold’s adventures were nonstop. When Ronnie passed away in 1997, Jerrold married Spring. He was so fortunate to find another life love that lasted 24 years. Jerrold and Spring also relished traveling. They visited all seven continents together. They biked through Italy, went on safaris in Africa numerous times, and went bird watching in the Galapagos Islands just to name a few trips. Jerrold wanted to pass on his love for exploring the world. They often treated Jerrold’s children and grandchildren to incredible trips with them. Life with Jerrold was always a huge adventure!

Jerrold was a family man first. Jerrold’s wives, children and grandchildren have always been his world. He took care of his family giving love and sage advice. He passionately wrapped life lessons into promoting hard work balanced with fun and travel. He often joked that if he could be reincarnated he would come back as one of his kids or grand kids because he wanted the next generation to have an even better life than he did. Jerrold had a full and colorful life. He had an uncanny way of putting things into perspective and finding a way to make the best of every situation.

He is survived by his loving wife, Spring, daughters-Laurie Bauguss (Britt) and Beth Angelo (Marc), and his sister Anita Perlman (Allan) and grandchildren-Robert, Brad, Amy and David.

A graveside service will be held in Jerrold’s memory on Sunday, November 21st, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 North Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206. For those unable to attend, please join us via livestream. The link can be found below.
