Jerry Wayne Hall, Sr. 71, lost his battle with illness on earth but claimed victory at the gates of Heaven on January 13, 2016. Jerry was born in Tennessee in 1944 before moving at a young age to Miami, FL where he was raised. It was in Miami where he was introduced to the two loves of his life. In 1962 he began work at FEC Railroad and in 1965 he met Linda Bellamy. Jerry worked every job at FEC, from switchman to a vice-president in the legal department, until he retired in 2009. He spent early retirement years taking care of his Sweet-Pea until she preceded him in death in 2013. Jerry is survived by his son, Bubba (Amanda); daughters, Kim Macy and Lisa Moore (Chad); along with his grandchildren, Abbey, Andy, Courtney, Ray, Zachary, Kelsey, and Calvin; and his faithful companion Barley. From “dad” to “pig” to “chief,” Jerry was known by many different names but was known by everyone for his love, compassion, loyalty, integrity, faithfulness and his dedication to his wife, family, and the Florida East Coast Railroad. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin with Mark Gibbs Officiating.
