Mr. Smith was the son of Leland Smith and Ruby Strictland. He was born in Durham, NC in 1941.
He was a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy and a 20-year veteran of the Security Dept. at Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by two sisters: Billy Marie Mansfield and Bobbie Jean Morgan. He was a loving husband and is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois Smith.
He will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
