He is survived by his mother, Catherine Wangenstein; fiancee, Cat Hawkins; siblings, Bill (Kristin), Christine, Erik (Danae), and Brian (Janet); nieces and nephews, Jeremy, Pluto, Patrick, Connor, Emma, Matthew, Katelyn.
Jim led a life of service. Jim was kind, compassionate and always willing to give of himself.
The "fun" uncle was always known to sneak an extra treat or some spending money to his nieces and nephews. His willingness to help all in their recovery is a testament to his character and capacity to love.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 7pm at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Chapel, 11801 St. Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL . The family will receive friends from 5pm until service time.
