

Joan was born on December 2, 1934, in Boston, Massachusetts. A proud Boston native, she remained a devoted and lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. She later made her home in Florida, where she especially cherished the years she spent living along the St. Johns River, a place that brought her great joy and contentment.
In her later years, Joan lived with her daughter, Donna Campiz, and her granddaughter and family, Denise Moline (Todd), where she was lovingly cared for and surrounded by the warmth and comfort of family.
Joan was deeply devoted to her family and found her greatest happiness in time spent together, particularly during Memorial Day gatherings. She was known for her strong sense of patriotism, her loyalty, her love of jazz music, and her devotion to family traditions.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth J. Hamilton; her parents, Germaine and Romeo Drouin; her siblings, sisters Doris Pfister, Dottie Gaschler, and Claire MacNevin, and her brother, Bobbie Drouin; as well as two of her beloved daughters, Denise Hamilton and Jodi Fisher.
Joan is survived by her children, Donna Campiz, and Kenneth John Hamilton II and his wife, Leticia Hamilton. She leaves behind a loving legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including grandchildren Denise Moline and her husband, Todd Moline; Christy Whalen; Kellie Fisher; and Zander Hamilton; and great-grandchildren Evan Moline and Cody Favre. She was lovingly known to them as “Gigi.”
Joan’s life was defined by her love of family, her unwavering spirit, and the meaningful connections she fostered throughout her 91 years. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207, on May 9, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm.
Interment will be held in Oaklawn cemetery with a reception to follow back in the Lodge.
