Marjorie “Joanne” Campbell Coleman, born January 11, 1926, sprouted her angel wings and went to Heaven on April 1, 2017. As she said, “What a Hell of an April Fool’s joke!” She loved her 91 years on this earth, but the love of her life, Lewis Andrew “Buck” Coleman, Jr. needed her by his side. Born on the family farm in Moweaqua, IL, not one, but BOTH sets of grandparents were in the room when they welcomed their beautiful granddaughter. During her grade school years, she skipped two grade levels…yes, she was the smartest kid on the farm. The family eventually moved to Daytona Beach, FL where she met her beloved Buck. They loved dancing on the pier at the Boardwalk where Big Bands made happy feet dance. She also loved walking on the beach, entertaining friends and family, needlework of all kinds, bird watching and her afternoon glass of wine. She was happy, happy, happy. She adored her Buck for 59 years. Being the youngest of 12, Buck’s clan accepted her with open arms and hearts which only added to her joy of life. Life was fun and life was good. She always said, “What will be, will be.” Gators were #1, Bulldogs #2 and Tigers #3. Wait…it depended on which child she was talking to! She was pre-deceased by her parents, Bernie and Ruth Campbell and brother, Gene Campbell. She leaves behind her loving family; son William O. Coleman (Jane), daughter Judy Matheson (Bense) and daughter Ella Knox (Jimmy). Grandchildren; Andrew Coleman, Sarah Trickey (Kevin), Kessler Matheson (Cameron Hall), Jim, Wyatt and Lillie Knox. Two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Hannah Trickey. She will be fondly remembered by numerous Campbell and Coleman nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The American Cancer Society or Special Olympics. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 8 in the sanctuary at Lakewood Presbyterian Church 2001 University Blvd W. Jacksonville, FL 32217. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. Interment will be in Daytona at a later date.
