BAXLEY—John Wilson Baxley, 80, passed away Friday, August 12, 2011. He was a native of Baxley,GA and had lived in Jacksonville most of his life. Mr. Baxley retired as a driver for JTA after 36 years service. He was a Deacon for over 40 years at Springfield Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Monday, August 15, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Frank Pintello officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Baxley Graveyard near Baxley, GA. Mr. Baxley was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah McLeod in 2008. Surviving family includes: his wife of 60 years, Annie Baxley; his daughter, Mary Ann (Bubba) Davis; his sons, Eldon Baxley and Donnie (Linda) Baxley; 2 sisters, Betty Martin and Sue Nell Lawson; a brother, “Bully” Baxley; a son in law, Rick McLeod; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave. Sunday, from 3:00 until 5:00 PM.
