Born February 3, 1949 to Duval County Engineer John Crosby, Sr. and Faye Henry Crosby, Johnny grew up in the Dupont area of Jacksonville, FL and attended Wolfson High. His friends from high school will remember him and his red VW.
A natural outdoorsman with a green thumb, Johnny established landscaping business C&C Nursery, which operated from 1975 to 2019. Able to build or fix anything, Johnny built a home in Mandarin with his wife, Maud, of 47 years. They raised their two children, Jacy and Jack (John III) and later in 2003 bought and renovated their dream home on the St Johns River in St Augustine.
Johnny was an avid fisherman and loved to be on the river. As a retiree, he also discovered a talent for and love of yoga. In lieu of a funeral, Johnny would have wanted his memory celebrated by casting a line, growing a pineapple, planting a flower, or dedicating a yoga class in his honor.
Johnny is survived by his wife, children, and sister, Jakie Treese.
