John H. Franklin, Jr., 80 passed away peacefully on January 31, 2015. He was born in Asheville, North Carolina on October 19, 1934. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by those he loved and those who loved him.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps. After his service, he attended Wake Forest University where he graduated with a B.S. in Accounting and obtained his CPA certification. He was a partner with KPMG, Inc. and after retiring purchased The Shircliff Group, Inc. where he worked with his daughter until his death. He was a longtime member of Rotary and Southside United Methodist Church, and board member of Community Connections of Jacksonville. He enjoyed many years of boating and fishing with family and friends and going to Jaguars football games with his daughter. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife and family at their home in Highlands, N.C.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda, daughter Laura L. Franklin, sons Stephen B. Franklin and John W. Franklin, and grandchildren Jessica and Reid Franklin.
A private family burial will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery.
