John H. Hamilton, age 49, passed away suddenly on March 3, 2012. He was born in Bermuda and was raised in Silver Spring, MD, and Virginia Beach, VA. He moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1994. John is survived by his wife and soul-mate Teri Hamilton; his parents, Capt. John & Barbara Hamilton; his children Jaime Hamilton, Matt McKinney, Jason Hamilton, and Jennifer Bauer and her husband Michael Paul; his grandchildren Ava Mary Bauer, Michael Paul Bauer III, and Molly Bauer; his sisters Nancy Reckling and her husband Bobby, Lt. Col. Karen Bailey, and Elizabeth Finegan and her husband Tom; and a host of nieces and nephews.
John graduated from Kempsville High School and attended Old Dominion University where he was a Brother of Theta Chi. He was employed by FRCSE, NAS Jacksonville as a Program Manager for the Industrial Component Repair and Modification Division. He was also a Member of the Federal Managers Association.
John loved the Jacksonville Jaguars, golf, fast cards, and spending time with Teri. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. John's family will receive friends on Thursday, March 8th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mayo Clinic Florida, Cardiac Research, 4500 San Pablo Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
