Born October 15, 1924, in Clarence Center, New York. John was one of eight children born to the late John and Bertha (Spoth) Herberger.
John served his country in the United States Navy for four years during World War ll. He worked for General Motors Harrison Radiator Division in Lockport, New York for 35 years. He retired at age 59 and moved to Inverness, Florida; where he enjoyed golf, playing cards, and visiting National Parks. He also was a big fan of the Tampa Bay Rays.
He is survived by his wife of 78 years Joan (nee Metzinger), his two sons, Douglas Herberger (Cynthia) of Ponte Vedra Beach, and Mark Herberger of Arlington, Virginia.
