
John W. “Jack” Rambach, Sr., 78, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008. A native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Mr. Rambach had attended Andrew Jackson High School and received his associate’s degree from Florida Junior College. He joined the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in 1961 and retired as a sergeant after over 30 years of service. He was a member of N.A.R.C., with the F.O.P. Lodge #530, and had been a Special Investigator for the Nassau County State Attorney’s Office. Jack was also a member of Riverview Masonic Lodge #306, F. & A.M., where he was a Past Worshipful Master in 1963 and member of the Scottish Rite Bodies. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Irene Hiers Rambach; a sister, Margaret Lehman; his parents, Edward and Stella Quinn Rambach, and a special granddaughter, Lindsey Crystal Berrie. Survivors include four daughters, Catherine Gissendaner (Angus), Cheryl Tuenge (Frank), Susan Kimberly Davis (T. C.), and Leslie Berrie Tyrer (Rick); one son: John William “Scotty” Rambach, Jr. (D. K.); one sister, Estelle Dausy; one brother, Edward Walter Rambach; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special friends, Peggy and Doug Menotte. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 10, 2008 at Evergreen Cemetery (Gate #6), FOP Chaplain Clarence Jerrell officiating, with Police Honors and Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to: the Shriner’s Childrens Hospital, Tampa, Florida, C/O P.O.B. 16039 Jacksonville, FL 32245; or to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
