
Father Pollard was born in Baltimore, Maryland as the second of 5 children to Edward (Jack) and Mary Pollard. He graduated from Towson High School, where he was a member of the cross-country team and Loyola College of Maryland, now Loyola University with a degree in Sociology. He worked for seven years post-graduation in a Catholic Orphanage in Baltimore. He always loved sports, especially the Baltimore Orioles, he decided to seek a career in radio hoping to become a sportscaster. It was during this time that he realized his calling was actually a spiritual one and he chose instead to serve the Lord. He was ordained a Catholic Priest in 1983 in the Diocese of St Augustine. He loved working as a Priest and he loved his home in Florida.
He is survived by two brothers Edward Pollard, Jr. Richard Pollard and a sister Diane Williams. Two sisters in law, Dollie Pollard, Patricia Pollard and a brother in law Michael Williams. His brother Thomas Pollard predeceased him. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019 in San Jose Catholic Church, 3619 Toledo Road Jacksonville, with Father Bill Kelly as Principal Celebrant, Father Remek Blaszkowski, and Father Rodolfo Godinez as Concelebrants
