ZITKO…..John Edward Zitko, 74, passed away on the 19th day of June, 2014 following an extended illness. He was born on the 26th day of June, 1939 in Chicago, IL. John was a 21 year retired veteran of the U. S. Navy (Seabees). He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his loving wife Nae, whom he was married to for 54 years; daughters, Georgian Zitko, Diana Ayoub Girgis (Maher), and Virginia Marie Cortes. He was a loving grandfather to Alexis Nichole Cortes. He is survived by sisters, Carol Deschner (William) and Diane Brown (Wayne). He will be dearly missed by all. Arrangements were made by Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Burial will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery on Tuesday the 24th of June, 2014 at 11 am with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers the family gratefully requests donations to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257.
