Joseph Bishop

Joseph F. “Joe” Bishop, Jr., 86, passed away October 20, 2010. He was born in Fitzgerald, GA on April 23, 1924. Joe attended Lane Avenue Church of God and retired from CSX Railroad after many years of dedicated service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served his country during WWII. Other affiliations include membership with the United Transportation Union, Local #903. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lucile; son, Joseph F. “Joey” Bishop, III; daughter, Laurie Courson (Rick); grandson, Warren L. Courson, III (Jennifer); a number of nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends for visitation from 5-7 pm, Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 25, 2010 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
