

A 1970 graduate of Mainland High School in Daytona, Joe enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1971 and then married the love of his life, Sue in 1972. He had joined the FL National Guard after leaving the Marines Corps. Joe loved spending time with his family and coached softball and soccer for the Port Orange Recreation Dept. He was active in the choir of Epiphany Catholic Church in Port Orange.
In 2005, Joe and his wife moved to Jacksonville, where he worked with Perkins Power Corp. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Jacksonville.
Preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob, Joe is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Ellen “Sue” D’Urgolo; daughters, Mary Wiltfong (Chris), Susan Spairana (Jason), Anna D’Urgolo; grandchildren, Joey, Sue-Ann, Lilly, Jaden, Liam, Landon; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 pm Saturday, September 10th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:30 pm Sunday, September 11th in Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Michael Larkin as Officiant.
