Joseph Marvin Moore

MOORE Joseph M. Moore, Firefighter (Ret) age 90 of Jacksonville died March 7, 2013. He was a loving father and a faithful and devoted husband. He was employed by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department for 41 years. He retired July 18, 1992. He was a founding member of the Fireman s Credit Union and was a former chairman of the Fireman s Credit Union. He was a decorated WWII veteran serving in the United States Army. He was a man of deep Christian faith and a member of Faith Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 71 years Marjorie Hardage Moore of Jacksonville. He leaves behind to Cherish his memory a son, Joel Raymond Ray ( Jan) Moore of Jacksonville and a daughter Sheila Christina Moore ( Richard Whitmire) of Lake Asbury. 7 grandchildren, 8 greatgrandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday March 12th, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Main Street Chapel, 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, Florida. The funeral service to honor his life and legacy will be Wednesday March 13th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church,5330 Dunn Ave. Jacksonville, Florida with the Rev. Donnie Miles officiating and the Jacksonville Fire Department Honor Guard and Pallbearers. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery
