Joseph E. Norman of Jacksonville, age 85, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 after an extended illness. Mr. Norman was born in Mount Vernon, New York on July 30, 1930. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Florida. Mr. Norman was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Blanche S Norman; his son, Gary E. Norman; parents, Joseph and Anna Norman; and brother, Robert Norman. Mr. Norman is survived by ten nieces and nephews. Mr. Norman was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp and a combat veteran of the Korean War, was also an active and proud member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Seventh District.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, November 6th at Hardage-Giddens, The Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mandarin Baptist Church 11244 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
