

Josephine Connors Colvin was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday, February 22, 2014. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Christopher C. and Ethel H. Connors on September 16, 1922. She graduated from Landon High School, class of 1940, and married her high school sweetheart, Joseph Madison Colvin on June 7, 1941.
She was a member of Southside Assembly of God, a faithful student of scripture and always had a song in her heart and on her lips. She was dedicated to her family and served them in untold ways without complaint. She was a talented seamstress, loved to crochet and knit with her sisters-in-law, and enjoyed Barbershop Quartet music with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years; and three sisters, Christine C. Peek, Grace C. Roberts, and Madie G. Connors. She is survived by her four children, Timothy W. Colvin, Pamela Barry Livingston (Art), Barry M. Colvin (Yenna), and Sandra C. (Jan) Young (Steve); eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Lucy Colvin O’Neal, and Marian P. Colvin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening on Friday, February 28th at The Oaklawn Chapel. A memorial service will be held at twelve o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, March 1st at Southside Assembly of God, 2118 Kings Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32207. For those who wish, donations may be made to either Southside Assembly of God or the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring, Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257. HARDAGE-GIDDENS, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Boulevard is serving the family.
