

Josephine (“Jo”) and her husband, John Priapi, moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1954 when John was given the task of relocating 350 families to the Jacksonville area for the Prudential Insurance Company.
Jo was member of Assumption Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, both in Jacksonville. She spend most of her life volunteering for various community organizations, where she received her pin for 10,000 hours of volunteer services at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
She is preceded in death by her father, Rocco Caponigro; mother, Francis Caponigro; her husband, John Joseph Priapi; brother, Michael Caponigro; and sister, Mary Caponigro Cerza.
Jo is survived by her two daughters, Anna Johnson-Riedel (Robert) and Joanne Stewart, both from Tallahassee, FL; sister, Grace Hunt; brothers, Rocky Caponigro, Freddy Cponigro, and Sonny Caponigro. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michelle Bryant (Gary), Stephanie Wolfe, Tallahassee, FL, Jay Wolfe (Kim), Palm Coast, FL, Teri Wolfe, Tallahassee, FL, Chris Stewart (Lisa), Doug Stewart, and Roger Stewart, San Diego, CA; nine great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 6:30-8:30pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 10:30am at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd. Jacksonville, FL.
