

Joshua Everett Jewell, 32, of Jacksonville, Fl, passed away on Saturday March 9, 2013. Josh was born February 7, 1981 to Sara and the late Pete Rhoden and Al Jewell. He graduated from Mandarin High School in 1999 and had started EMT training in 2002 when a serious accident lead him down a different path. Through his paralysis Josh worked hard, trying every day to accomplish new tasks and live a full life. He fought the battle in every way. Josh competed in wheelchair rugby, continued his love of hunting and surfing and remained an avid Gator fan. He recently began volunteering at Brooks Rehabilitation as a mentor to others. Josh touched so many lives and will remain in all of our hearts forever.
He is survived by his mother; brothers, Matthew and Pete; sisters, Karla and Karen; uncle, TJ; aunts, Terri and Teresa; cousins, Shri, Mary Claire, Brandi and Tommy and nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday March 14 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 1181 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Fl 32223.
