Judith Yvonne Branch

Judith Yvonne Branch of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on November 23rd, 2023 at the age of 87. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was born on January 9, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to Anna Ona (Aona) Kemper Finley and Layman Hilary Finley. Shortly after birth the family moved back to Louisville, Kentucky where she lived until she was fifteen. Her mother moved to Jacksonville and married her step father, William H. Bomar who adopted her.

She attended Landon High School where she was introduced to the love of Her Life James P. (Jimmy) Branch by her best friend Judy Curran Crews. They married in 1953 and started a family.

She was a charter member of Terry Parker Baptist Church and just recently celebrated 65 years, having joined in 1958. As quoted by a leader of the church “she was a small woman that took care of large responsibilities”. She served on the Hospitality Committee for over 30 years, was Chair Of the Children’s Department and head of the Nursery Care Department. She was also Chair of the Leadership Committee that had oversight of all the Church Committees for the last eight years. She was involved in her Sunday school class and other Ministries such as Keenagers and the Sunwalkers Ministry . She also worked with the Art Department that helped coordinate most of the paintings in the fellowship hall. She had a true servant heart and gave her all to the church.

She was preceded in death by her mother Aona Bomar, Step father William H. Bomar, and Husband James P. Branch, Sr. She is survived by a son, James P. Branch, Jr.(Gwendolyn) and a bonus daughter Elizabeth Burns (Michael). Grandchildren; Keri Branch Cruse, James P. Branch III (Kristine). Great Grandchildren; Lauren Branch, Morgan Locke, Jordan Cruse, Mackenzie Berger and Lauren Castro. Great Great Grandchildren; Ryleigh, Maximus, Beckham, Brooklyn, Fletcher, William, and Aurora, A brother; Tom Bomar. Nephews; Ron Branch and Randy Bomar. Niece; Tonya Thompson.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Jacksonville, FL. The funeral Service will be Wednesday November 29th at 1pm. Terry Parker Baptist Church, 7024 Merrill Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32211.

Pallbearers will be, Mike Weil, Scott Weil, Tim Weil, Bobby Siders, Dwayne Price, and Michael Burns.
