Kamal Salman Bateh, age 74, passed away on February 11th at 7am in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on April 16, 1940 in Ramallah, Palestine to Salman Z and Jamileh Bateh. He immigrated to the United States when he was a young boy and served in the U.S. Army. He was a successful businessman and a member of the Ramallah Club and St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Karimeh; daughters, Amy (Tommy), Heather (Dennis) & Tammy (Justin); 2 grandchildren, Breanna & Bella; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and brother Karim Bateh.
The family will receive friends at the church from six o’clock until seven o’clock on Friday, February 13, 2015 with a Trisagion service to begin at seven o’clock in the evening. Funeral services will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 6300 Bowden Road, 32216 with Reverend Archpriest Kamal Al-Rahil officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
