Karen Marie Love, 61, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2018, surrounded by her family and best friend. Karen was born on December 10, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida and grew up with her two brothers, Mike and James Love. She graduated from The Bolles School and received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of North Florida. Karen worked for many years with her lifelong best friend Annie, at Reddi-Arts, where she discovered her passion for the arts. She loved artwork and was particularly talented at creating stained glass. She also enjoyed woodburning and drawing. In 2009, Karen was forced to retire due to her health. She was an avid reader of horror and thriller novels, and owned a large collection of Stephen King’s best. Her friends will remember Karen as an extremely kind and selfless person, never wanting to bother anyone for anything. She had a dry and loving sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh. Karen had a positive attitude; she would always keep her chin up and kept on smiling, even in difficult times.
Karen was predeceased by her father Robert, her mother Jeanne, and her oldest brother James. She is survived by her son Tyler, her brother Mike, her nieces Ashley and Robin, and her nephew Mike Jr.
The family would like to give special thanks to her son Tyler, for his years of support and devotion to his mother as her primary caregiver.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
