Karim Bateh

Karim Salman Bateh, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother peacefully passed away April 21, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Karim was born in Ramallah, Palestine in 1947 and moved to Jacksonville in 1960 at the age of 13. He was an active member of the Ramallah Club of Jacksonville and St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Salman and Jamileh Bateh.

Karim is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Aida Bateh, his brother Kamal Bateh, his sons Sam Bateh, (Angela), Karim Bateh, Jr., and Steven Bateh, and his three grandchildren Ashleigh, Nicholas, and Jacob Bateh.

The trisagion will be held Tuesday April 26th at 7 p.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 6300 Bowden Road with the V. Rev. Fr. Kamal Al-Rahil officiating. The family will receive family and friends at 6 p.m. The funeral, also at St. George will be held Wednesday April 27th at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville.

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
