Katherine Dodson Cromley

Katherine Dodson Cromley, 74, of Jacksonville Beach, FL passed away on July 9th, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Ralph Woods Cromley Sr, father, James Dodson, mother, Vesta Dodson, two sisters, Olevia Walker & Ellen McCormick, and brother, William Dodson. She is survived by her two children, Ralph Woods “Woody” Cromley Jr and Jamie Severt (Dennis), two beautiful granddaughters, Bailey Rae (12) and Parker Grace (8).

Katherine was born on May 23rd, 1949 in St. Petersburg, FL. Having grown up on a lot of land with a musical mother, her love for horses and music ran deep. She competed in barrel racing and began practicing voice in her mother’s studio at a young age. She met the love of her life, Ralph, while he was stationed in St. Pete and from there, they began their life together. Due to his military career, they lived all over the world. In 1978 they were stationed in Jacksonville Beach, FL which ended up being their forever home. Katherine shared her beautiful gift of singing by being a member of various choirs, operas, and organizations throughout Jacksonville. She was a vocal coach, soprano soloist, and ended her singing career doing musical therapy at several local hospitals. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She was a dear friend to many and lived life to the fullest. Her strength in all things, kind soul, and adventurous spirit will be sorely missed by all that loved her.

A joint service to be held August 25th at 11am at Palms Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville Beach, FL. Final resting place will be the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
