

Kathleen P. Freer, 86, passed away peacefully in her home on August 31st, 2010 in St. Johns, FL. She was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in New York City. She was married to Kenneth J. Freer, Sr. and widowed during his service in World War II. Kathleen worked for and retired from AT&T after 20 years. She moved and settled in West Dennis on Cape Cod. She worked for the State of Massachusetts and retired after 20 years of service. She shared her later years on the Cape with her dear friend, Eugene McGillycuddy, and survived him in 1998. Kathleen joined her family in St. Johns, FL, for her remaining years. She was an avid lover of animals and cared for dozens during her lifetime. She maintained a strong identity and a proud connection to her Irish heritage. Kathleen was independent and active until the very end, and surrounded by loving family members at the time of her passing. She is survived by her son, Kenneth; daughter-in-law, Judith; grandchildren, Eric, Kerry and Michael; and great-grandchildren, Aleah, Brian, Brennan, Vanessa, Branden, Colin and Madison.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 3rd in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, Sept. 4th in San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church, 1714 SR 13 St. Johns FL 32259 with Fr. Tony Ike as Celebrant.
