

Kathryn Marie Kumik, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 20, 2024, at the age of 79. Although Kathy suffered from chronic pain for many years, her passing was sudden. Her family finds comfort knowing she is at peace with the Lord.
Born on January 17, 1945, in Youngstown, Ohio, Kathy was the cherished daughter of Robert Emmett and Della Bridgett Devaney Foran. She was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and furthered her education at Youngstown State University.
Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion as a wife to her husband of 57 years, Theodore Kumik, and as a mother to her daughters, Jennifer(Anthony), Bridgett(Corey), and Tara(Chris). Her joy was multiplied as a grandmother to Dylan, Olivia, Ross, Ryan, Jillian, Chloe, Riley, and Michael. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy(Thomas) Broderick and dear nieces and nephews. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Robert and Thomas(Patty) Foran, her sister, Mary Lou(William) Pesa, and her niece, Karen Pesa.
Kathy and Ted were high school sweethearts, married at St. Dominic Catholic Church on October 21, 1967 and began a lifetime of adventure together. They moved to Plantation, Florida with their three girls in 1979 where they planted roots and created lasting friendships and memories. In 2004, they moved to Jacksonville to be closer to their treasured grandchildren where they celebrated two decades of family gatherings and special moments. Kathy was an avid sports fan and if she wasn't cheering on her grandchildren from the sidelines or the stands, she loved following her Florida Gators.
Kathy's life was characterized by her unwavering commitment to her family, whom she adored and lived for. Her presence was a comforting and loving force, and she cherished every moment together. She will be dearly missed by everyone she touched including her faithful companion and beloved pup, Skylar.
A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at San Jose Catholic Church on Saturday, October 5, 2024. (3619 Toledo Road Jacksonville, FL 32217). Visitation will begin at 1:45 PM followed by the Mass at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathy's memory may be made to the San Jose Catholic Church, honoring her commitment to her faith and community.
