Katie Cole Acosta at the age of 27 passed away on August 2, 2019 after medical complications during dialysis. Katie is survived by her mother, Maureen Cole McCabe; her father Earl Acosta; three sisters, Mallory Acosta, Megan McCabe and Sarah Cole; four brothers, Brady Acosta (Danielle Mullen), Spencer Acosta, Zane Cruz and Austin Barber; many cousin’s, aunt’s, uncle’s and other loved ones. Katie had been dealing with kidney failure but she never let it keep her spirits down, dim her smile, or restrain her zest for life. She loved the beach, Florida sun, the ocean, family, friends, all animals, and most of all Kira her four-legged companion. She could ride a horse, walk the beach, go to key west & dive for lobster, or go to Harry Potter land all favorite things for her to do. She was a free spirit with a loving heart that everyone loved. She was a good friend a loving sister caring daughter and amazing person. Katie always thought outside the box. She was a cool hippie, a hobbit nerd, Harry Potter nut, an outdoor lover, gun shooting, a “heck yes, let’s do it” kind of woman. Those who knew her will miss her. Those who loved her will really miss her. Those whom were closest to her will never be the same because of knowing, loving, and experiencing Katie in their lives. She loved making silly photographs. She had an unmistakable laugh, unforgettable smile, and unselfish, remarkably strong heart. She always saw more good in the world than bad. I can still her and Mallory singing, no, rocking to the Disney music channel with volume blasting their Hakuna Matata or the Frozen “Love is an open door” song. We are all heartbroken. We are so sad that Katie has been called up to heaven much too soon. It seemed she was only in the middle of her book in this life. So, it is with the heaviest of hearts of so many that knew and loved Katie that I ask you to keep us all in your prayers. As for Katie we know you and Uncle Bruce are riding on the winds and soaring above the clouds. Finally at peace, finally made whole, and yes peanut you are finally Home.
Rest easy we will take it from here.
