

Born on March 19, 1930, in Augusta, Georgia, Kenneth was the cherished father of Robert Christopher Young, Robin Christine Walker, and Jason Christian Young, and a deeply devoted husband to his beloved Jewel Christine Cox-Young. His life was a testament to his unwavering love for his family, his faith, and his commitment to service. Kenneth was a man of deep Christian conviction, dedicating his life to following God’s path and serving others with humility, grace, and generosity.
Kenneth enjoyed a fulfilling career as a level and half Supervisor for Bell South, but it was his passions outside of work that truly defined him. His love for golf was not just a pastime but a gift he shared with his grandchildren, teaching them the joys of the game. He was also passionate about photography and flying, and these hobbies brought him immense joy, which he spread to all who knew him. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and his spirit of giving touched the hearts of many. Kenneth's legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will live on in the countless lives he impacted.
A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, Georgia, Kenneth served as both an usher and a deacon, roles that allowed him to share his faith and love with his community. His life was a beautiful reflection of his Christian values — marked by humility, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
Kenneth is lovingly remembered by his daughter’s in-law, Tammy Young and Claudia Young; his grandchildren: Lindsey Nelson (Christian Nelson), Brantley Young (Sara Young), Megan Johnson (Taylor Johnson), Bryce Young (Natalie Young); and his great-grandchildren: Carter Johnson, Emily Young, Elizabeth Young, Edward Young, Wyatt Johnson, Ella Johnson, and Ada Young. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who held him dear.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ester Young, and his siblings: Louise Blackwell, Mildred Johnson, Bobby Jean Cheatle, Lamar Young, JC Young, and Gary Young.
Kenneth's love for his family, his faith in God, and his dedication to helping others will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. The family will hold a private ceremony at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Cemetery on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
