Kimmie was raised in Long Island New York graduating from Uniondale High Senior School in 1987. She then attended North Carolina Central University for nursing where she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. It was at St. Frances Hospital where her career began and later continued as a CNA in Jacksonville Florida. Upon relocating to Florida, she was baptized at Hopewell Church, formerly First Baptist Church of Mandarin. In 2007, she met Jeffrey Koch who wooed her on their very first date where they dined at Ruth Chris steakhouse. They dated, got married and created a family with their fur babies, Diggy and Dexter.
She was predeceased by her father, Harry Forrest and mother in-law, Mary Koch. She is survived by her spouse, Jeffrey Koch; in-laws, Gary, Rodney and Marge Koch; mother, Gladys Savlowitz; siblings, Beverly Forrest and Korain Savlowitz; aunt, Joyce Crouell; uncles, Walter Jackson and Murphy Stewart “Tex”; cousin, Carletta Reid; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel. Her celebration of life will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, followed by interment at Oaklawn Cemetery.
