Kimberly Kaye Hu, age 55, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on March 11th, 2025. She was born on June 21, 1969, in Flint, Michigan, but spent much of her life in Grand Blanc, Michigan, where she raised her two beloved children, Alexandra and Benjamin Hu. As well as being a devoted mother, Kimberly was also known for her remarkable talents as a tremendous interior decorator and homemaker.
Kimberly will always be remembered as a bright ray of sunshine that brought warmth and love into every room she entered. Her infectious laughter and bright sense of humor were truly one-of-a-kind. She had a unique and creative spirit, which she expressed through her beautifully decorated homes and artistic endeavors. From her floral designs to her painting and music, Kimberly's artistic touch was felt by all who knew her.
She enjoyed creating eclectic, inviting spaces for her family and friends and found artistic endeavors from painting and drawing to playing the guitar and flute important in her life.
Kimberly was an avid lover of animals, nurturing many cats and dogs throughout her life, including her fur-babies Chloe, Mr. Pumpkin, Spanky, and Romeo. She also had a passion for cooking and entertaining, with her famous spaghetti and meatloaf becoming favorites among her family and friends.
After moving to Jacksonville, Kimberly discovered her love for beach life. The peace she found at the beach helped it become her sanctuary, where she would often meditate and pray. She lovingly referred to it as her "happy place".
Her family and friends were at the heart of everything Kimberly did. She was the best kind of friend always offering her time, energy, and support to those she loved. Above all, she cherished the bond she shared with her children and the lasting memories she created with them.
Kimberly was preceded in death by the love of her life and soul mate, Richard Hu. Kimberly is survived by her daughter, Alexandra Hu; her son, Benjamin Hu; her best friend and soul-sister, Melody; and dear friends, Wendy and Rodney.
