MERRELL- Larry J. Merrell, USN, Ret., 71, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016. Larry was a Vietnam Veteran and served our country proudly in the U.S. Navy for 22 years. After retiring from the Navy, Larry also retired as a refrigeration and air condition mechanic from All About Air. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Karen Merrell; 3 sons, John Merrell, Brian Merrell and Scott Merrell; step-children, James Charnes, Wendy Thomas, Carolyn Loizzi and Billy Burke; 2 sisters, Rosalind Chumley and Claudette Downs; 2 brothers, Wayne Merrell and Doug Merrell; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Interment with full military honors rendered by the U.S. Navy will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 29 at Jacksonville National Cemetery (Lane #1).
