

JAPOUR - LaVerne Phillips Japour, 96, a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2014. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Daniel, brother, Bryant Phillips, and sister, Hazel Clover. Survivors include: Son, Franklin (Patricia), Granddaughters Catherine Loyola (Carlos), Kaleigh Vause, and Great Grandchildren, Victoria Loyola, Christopher Loyola, Cheyenne Vause and Dexter Fells, III, Great Great Grandchildren, Ambrielle Calixte, Julius Calixte, and Christian Loyola. She is also survived by her Sisters-in-Law, Elizabeth Coughlin and Theresa Hudgins, Nephews, Jimmy (Jane) Phillips, Scott (Lynn) Clover, Ray (Flo) Singletary, Niece, Dianne (Joe) Caviezel, numerous Great nieces and nephews and a world of friends. She was a past president of the Christ the King Council of Catholic Women, member of St. Patrick’s Circle, and a founding and active member of Christ the King’s Daily Adoration Society. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 6 pm – 7 pm with the rosary at 7 pm at the Corey-Kerlin Chapel, 940 Cesery Blvd. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 10 am at The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 121 E. Duval St., celebrant, Fr. Thanh Nguyen and concelebrant, Fr. Amar Nagothu. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
