LaVerne Byrd Goodbrad Pichler, age 96, died March 26, 2018 in Gallatin, TN. She was born October 2, 1921 in Savannah, GA. She was a Registered Nurse, accomplished pianist having given several solo recitals during her early years, organist, and active member of the Mandarin Seventh-day Adventist Church, Jacksonville, FL before moving to Portland, TN. She is also a descendant of the late William Tomlinson; a veteran of The War Between the States; Jared Tomlinson, pioneer of Sumter county, GA and Aaron Tomlinson, a revolutionary officer of Jefferson county, GA.
She is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Floyd L. Pichler; parents, Benjamin T. Byrd, Sr., founder of Byrd's Famous Cookies, Savannah, GA and Ruth Tomlinson Byrd; three brothers, Benjamin T. Byrd, Jr., Carleton W. Byrd, and Dr. Bernard C. Byrd. She is survived by her five children, Janet G. Bagshaw (Daniel C.), Portland, TN, Donald B. Goodbrad (Heather P.) of Helena, MT, Deanna P. Borges (Walter), Cocoa Beach, FL; Bonnie P. Bryn (Dr. Randy), Shreveport, LA; Dr. Daniel L. Pichler (Clara), Hobe Sound, FL.; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service at 10:00 am, Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Oaklawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL, with Pastor Reuben Ramos of Mandarin Seventh-day Adventist Church, officiating.
