Dear Larry,

Although many years have passed, I have so many fond memories of your Mom from the 1950s and 60s, and our old neighborhood. She was such a kind, generous and loving lady. The work she did in our schools touched the lives of all of us for many, many years. She truly was an inspiration!

I vividly remember Gary and Susie coming to our class parties in elementary school with your Mom, and how much I envied you for having a "little" brother and sister, since I only had older brothers. I thought you were so lucky!

No doubt your Mom's passing has been difficult for you all. May you find peace, comfort and understanding in God's loving arms. With deepest sympathy to you all.

In friendship,
Jean Crumpler Harman

MAYBE SOMEDAY I will forget
The bad and the sad
The things I regret

MAYBE SOMEDAY it won't be so raw
To do what we did
To see what we saw

MAYBE SOMEDAY I'll live through a storm
And not think of you cold
But snug, safe and warm

MAYBE SOMEDAY I'll again eat ice cream
And not hope to wake up
From just a bad dream

MAYBE SOMEDAY I will reconcile
What everyone tells me
“It just takes a while”

MAYBE SOMEDAY I'll be able to feel
That this is better for you
But now it's surreal

MAYBE SOMEDAY I'll accept you're not here
And then I'll stop waiting
For you to appear

MAYBE SOMEDAY you will not be
My reason for living
But a good memory

MAYBE SOMEDAY an old couple I'll see
And not be so angry
They don't belong to me

MAYBE SOMEDAY we won't feel so alone
Now that we're orphans
Now that you're gone

MAYBE SOMEDAY we'll forget what we had
And learn life goes on
Without Mom and Dad

Maybe someday “‘til Death do us part”
Will not be the reason
For my broken heart

MAYBE SOMEDAY I'll be less selfish and then
I'll be able to accept
You're together again

MAYBE SOMEDAY I'll stop writing this song
But I am afraid if I do
You will really be gone

Maybe someday. But not today.

For Troy and Lettie Ratliff on the occasion of her death

Susan, My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of the family, sorry I was not there, even though I am not there know that I am sending my love to you. My special prayer to you is that God will wrap his comforting arms around you and give you the peace of knowing she is in a better place right now. We are all selfish and want to have our loved ones with us but God has a special plan for her with him. Stay strong, I love and miss you....

Susie Ratliff Langenbahn. I just was talking to Mom about you. We went to Culver many years ago. We were on the patrol team. I'm so sorry about your Mom. Prayers to you and your family. I lost my Dad almost 4 years ago. I lost my husband a little over a year ago. Would love to talk to you. God will help you through this time. Many prayers will be answered. Your mom will always be with you.
