

Lewis was born, December 7, 1926 in Ft. White Florida. After serving in the U. S. Army during World War II, he re-located to Jacksonville, Fl. where he worked in the retail furniture business in various executive, administrative and selling roles for over 50 years. He and his wife of 67 years, Maudine Lucas Hunter were members of Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Jacksonville for over twenty years where Lewis served as Treasurer and Board member. At the time of his passing, he and his wife were members of Destination Church Assembly of God.
Lewis was preceded in death by his grandson, Lewis Benjamin Hunter, III, five sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife Maudine, a sister Marguerite Dubose of Ft. White Fl, his sons Lewis Benjamin Hunter, Jr. (wife Barbara), and Lance Dean Hunter of Tallassee, AL, five granddaughters, Meredith Jones, Leigh Long, Kathleen Hunter of Wellington, Fl, Kristen Hunter of Atlanta Georgia, and Sarah Hunter of New York, New York, four great granddaughters, Leila, and Hannah Jones, Hunter and Annie Long and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
A Graveside service officiated by Paster Chad Burgbacher, Senior Pastor of Destination Church Assembly of God will be held, at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jax 32205, with a reception following in the Celebration of Life facility at Riverside Memorial Park.
