Originally from Rocky Ford, Georgia, Lil was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She moved to Savannah, Georgia as a young adult where she began a career in bookkeeping and corporate executive administrative support, receiving multiple honors and accolades for her accomplishments.
She was a soldier for Christ, most recently as a member of Fruit Cove Baptist Church, where she made many friends and enjoyed fellowship in Sunday School, worship services, and group activities. She passed on a legacy of love and faith to her daughters, and an appreciation for music and dance.
A woman of many talents, Lil was an amazing cook, personal stylist, interior decorator and craftsperson who also enjoyed “antiquing” and reading historical and modern-day mystery novels.
Golf was her favorite sport; she enjoyed meeting some of her golf heroes on the greens. She was also a devoted University of Georgia Bulldogs fan (“Go Dawgs”) and a Jacksonville Jaguars fan (“Go Jags”).
Lil was predeceased by her mother, Sadie Joyner; brothers Clyde Joyner and Harold Joyner; nephews; and numerous friends.
She is survived by her daughters Karey Doll (Steve) and Karen Attaway (Steve); granddaughters Jennifer Robertson (Joseph) and Lindsey Hill (Thomas); great grandchildren Hunter and Reid Robertson, and Harper, Ellie and Wade Hill; and nieces and a nephew.
The family is especially grateful to personal caregivers Marylee and Gail; Baptist Jacksonville Neuro ICU team members Nurse Devon and Dr. Yogesh Moradiya; and the Community Hospice Alice and T. O’Neal Douglas Center for Caring, for their excellent, compassionate care of our mother.
The family will hold a private service. There will be no viewing service.
