As a life-long resident of Jacksonville, Louise Abood had very deep roots in the community. A graduate of Jackson High School, she was a reigning matriarch of well-known and respected restaurant dynasty. She was married to Fred J. Abood Sr. for sixty-two years and assisted him in the successful development of the Steer Room and Green Derby restaurants.
Her Uncle, Joe Adeeb Sr. was an innovative Jacksonville entrepreneur and a founding fathers of fine dining in his Green Turtle and Sea Turtle restaurants. Adeeb’s influence was highly significant in the early years of the Abood’s restaurants, imbued with love of a family, incredible work ethic, and recipes inspired by Louise Abood’s mother, Zora.
Our loving mother was a member of Assumption Catholic Church. She was a sixty-four year resident of San Marco, a place she loved above all others. A woman of impeccable grace and taste, she had a passion for interior design, gardening, and cooking.

She is survived by her four children; Fred Abood Jr., (Amelia Island) Tommy Abood, (Jacksonville) Pamela Abood Auth, (Jacksonville) and Cheryl Abood (Los Angeles, CA.) She has nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
