

Louise Taylor Braren-Wyse passed away on November 17, 2022, at Hadlow Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born December 6, 1927, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the parents of Morrison I. Taylor and Eula Lee Connell, and she was their only child. Her father was a real estate broker and the former Florida Real Estate Commissioner. His office was located at the foot of the Main Street Bridge, in the building now known as Cowford Chophouse. Her mother was a beautician and owned a large beauty shop near Lee High School.
Louise graduated from Lee High School in 1945 and Jones College. She was a real estate broker and investor for sixty years, successfully forging her way into a man's world.
Louise's hobbies included nurturing animals, walking the beach, gardening, fishing/shrimping, and ballroom dancing.
Over the years, Louise was a member and past president of many philanthropic organizations. Some of which include Most Excellent Chief of the Pythian Sisters, past College of Regents, Women of the Moose No. 1381, past president of the BP0 Does No. 111 of Jacksonville Beach, a member of Order of Eastern Star No. 28, a member of Acacia Court No. 10, Order of the Amaranth, and past High Priestess of the Palestine White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Louise was last a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Jacksonville Beach, and before that, a member of St. Marks’ Lutheran Church, Jacksonville. Her faith was strong, and she was known as a prayer warrior to many.
Her four children survive Louise: Sheryl Braren Hall (Jeff) Flagler Beach, Morrison Paul Braren (Yukari) Jacksonville, Bernhard Karl Braren III Jacksonville Beach, and Heidi Louise Braren-Walsh Jacksonville.
Six grandchildren survive her: Clint R. Peters (Pam) Jacksonville Beach; M. Paul Braren, Jr. Jacksonville; K. Kris Braren Jacksonville; Christy Walsh-Kirby (David) Bristow, VA; Ashley W. Carter (Caleb) Yulee; and Emily T. Walsh Jacksonville.
Seven great-grandchildren survive her: Lanae Peters, Lorna Braren, Olivia Walsh-Kirby, Charlotte Braren, Aurora Kirby, Camden Carter, and Camille Braren.
Four great-great-grandchildren also survive her: Laila Barrett, Bradley Roberts, Brady Barrett, and Bethany Roberts.
Louise's family feels blessed to have had such a remarkable mother/grandmother for almost 95 years.
The family will have a visitation and viewing, funeral, and reception at Hardage-Giddens Chapel, Taylor Hall (main building), 4801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207, on Tuesday, November 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A private family entombment will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Jacksonville Humane Society, Feeding America, or K9s for Warriors.
