Lucas Dewitt Dean

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lucas Dean, who left this world on November 27th, 2025 at the age of 18 years old. Lucas was a beloved Son, Brother, Grandson, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and steady presence touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Born on October 23rd, 2007 in Jacksonville, Florida. Lucas was a proud junior at Mandarin High School, where he was known for his kindness, sense of humor, dedication, and friendships. Teachers, classmates, and staff will remember him for the positive energy he brought to the classroom and the compassion he showed to others.

Outside of school, Lucas cherished the simple joys of life such as spending time at the park with friends, playing basketball with his father, and playing video games finding joy in the moments he shared with family and friends. His warmth, authenticity, and easy smile left an impression on all who crossed his path. His greatest pride, however, was always his family. He is survived by father Eugene (Buddy) Dean Jr., mother Shannon Dean, and sister Sarah Dean , and Grandparents James (Rusty) Tiencken Jr. and Denise Tiencken and many other extended family members who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Preceded in death by, Grandfather Eugene (Gene) Dean Sr. and grandmother Patricia (pat) Dean.

Lucas’s life was a gift to many, and his legacy will continue through the love he shared, the lives he influenced, and the memories carried by all who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be held on December 6th, 2025 at Hardage -Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery from 11-1 pm where family and friends are invited to gather, reflect, and honor his memory.
