Lyle was born on December 13, 1952, in Irvington, New Jersey to Kenneth Karl Klemmt and Ruth Dorothy Ewing.
He attended Englewood High School and shortly afterwards joined IATSE Local 115 and remained a long-term member until his death.
Lyle spent his early years working as a stagehand before beginning his 32-year career with SMG/ASM Global. During these years he capably served as Production Manager at the Times-Union Performing Arts Center, as Operations Manager at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, now Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena, and finally as Sr Operations Manager at Everbank Stadium. In each position that Lyle held, he was well respected and valued for his incredible work ethic, his vast experience, his dedication to each and every project, his loyalty, and his mature judgement.
Lyle was a skilled archer and marksman. He was a long-time member of the National Rifle Association.
He was a Civil War enthusiast and maintained a collection of memorabilia from that period.
Lyle’s other interests and hobbies included woodworking and a passion for cycling. He was a member of and raced with the Riverside Wheelmen Racing Team from 1987-1989.
He was a loving husband to Susie and missed by 3 days the anniversary of their 42 years of marriage.
He leaves behind his loving son, Evan Karl Klemmt.
Lyle was predeceased in death by his father Kenneth Karl Klemmt, his mother Ruth Dorothy Ewing, and his brother Kenneth Keith Klemmt.
Surviving family members include his loving wife of 42 years Susan Shannon Klemmt, son Evan Karl, sister Ellen Klemmt Chambliss, Lithia, Florida, sister-in-law Rosemary Klemmt, Jacksonville, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial Mass offered for the repose of Lyle’s soul on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to be held at St Paul Catholic Church, Riverside, 2609 Park St. , celebrated by Fr. Leonard Chuwa. The holy rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Reception to follow in church hall.
Interment will take place at 1:00 pm, Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, Fl.
