Lysbeth, a native of Ochlocknee, Georgia, was born to the late Nora Albritton Wade and John Arthur Wade and raised on a small farm with seven sisters and one brother. She moved to Jacksonville after graduating from Ochlocknee High School and later worked for the Duval County School Board until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and after retirement enjoyed ushering for various events at the Florida Theatre and the Jacksonville Civic Auditorium. Some of her greatest joys were traveling with her sisters and close friends, caring for her sons, spending time with family, and playing bridge.
Lysbeth was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and two grandchildren, Tara Lockamy Robertson and Amanda Lockamy Knutson. Her survivors include her sons, Jeffrey Lynn Lockamy, Gregory Allen Lockamy, Gerald Lee Lockamy, and Charles Robert Brown, Jr; granddaughters, Lindsay Lockamy and Melinda Myers Clishe; grandsons, Matthew Myers and Austin Brown, and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 10, 2021, at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. Interment will follow the services. Visitation will be from 1:00pm - 2:00pm prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to your favorite charity.
