Devoted Mother and Grandmother
Mable Ruth Ford, 100, died peacefully on Monday November 22, 2021 at her Keystone Heights residence with her family by her side.
Mable was born on December 11, 1920 in Hilliard, Florida to Dean and Eva Haddock. She loved a beautiful sunny day and would often recount going down by the river with her siblings to fish and watch the brothers swim. Even at the age of 100 she would say she always wished she'd learned how to swim.
She married at the age of 22 and was blessed with 3 sons, David, James, and Cecil. She was preceded in death by her son James "Jimmy" Mullis. She is survived by David Mullis and daughter-in-law Tammy, who lovingly cared for Mable in their home for over 11 years. She is also survived by her son, Cecil Mullis and daughter-in-law Betty.
Mable is further survived by her 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, along with her brother Harold Haddock and sister-in-law Mary Alice Haddock.
Mable retired from State Farm insurance Company after 30 long years of service. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, volunteering at the local hospital and traveling with her late husband Henry W. Ford.
She especially will be remembered for her beautiful and loving spirit and a voice that served to strengthen and encourage anyone she ever met. She never failed to reach out to hold the hand of a stranger or to help anyone in need.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 27th 2021 at 10:00 AM @ Trinity Baptist Church 3716 State Rd. 21, Keystone Heights Fl. Funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM and will be lead by Pastor Brandon Denmark.
The family requests potted plants in lieu of flowers in order to build a special garden in her honor for her family to visit in the future. These may be sent to 7107 Immokalee Rd. Keystone Heights, FL 32656.
