Madge was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and extended family. She enjoyed beach outings with her children and friends.
Madge had an unwavering faith in God and a keen devotion to her church, First Baptist Church in downtown Jacksonville. She taught Sunday school for a number of years and was active in her Sunday school class.
Madge was predeceased by her loving husband Charles Covington Williford, her son, Charles Gregory Williford, and her three sisters in North Carolina. Madge is survived by her daughter, Janet (Mark Evans) Horton, Tallahassee, Florida. She is also survived by her two granddaughters, Amy (Randy) Nakamura and Amber (Chris) Hale and their mother, Kathy Williford Chase, and her great-granddaughter, Piper Kailani Nakamura.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 24, 2018, with visitation starting at 1:00pm, at Greenlawn Chapel, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Madge's memory to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
