

Margaret F. Rumph, 89, of Jacksonville FL. passed November 25, 2011. Margaret was born the youngest of twelve children, on March 21, 1922 to Casper and Bernadine Fechtel in Waycross, Georgia. She moved with her family to Jacksonville Florida at age 4 where she graduated from Immaculate Conception High school. She was an outstanding member of the girl’s basketball team. Margaret married Bert Rumph in Jacksonville on May 2, 1941.
She was a master gardener, a judge for flower shows, and an avid garden club member. She was a golfer in her earlier years and a member of many types of groups in Jacksonville including PEO. She enjoyed bridge and music and traveling with her friends, family and her husband.
She was a devout member of Assumption Catholic Church and devoted a lot of her time to different group efforts for years before her physical disabilities caused her to step down.
She is survived by her two children Hugh Rumph and Peggy Osterhout, both of Jacksonville Fl. Her only surviving brother, Dr. Albert Fechtel, is also in Jacksonville. She had one granddaughter, Jill O’Connor of Neptune Beach, and her great grandchildren Cassidy, Zada and Sophia O’Connor. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 10:00 AM in Assumption Catholic Church 2403 Atlantic Blvd. Jacksonville FL 32207 Father Fred Parke as Celebrant.
