to Father’s House on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 peacefully at home in Jacksonville, Florida.
Maria was a devoted homemaker and mother for 73 years. Without any formal education,
Maria successfully conducted multiple single vendor enterprises in the metropolis of Saigon,
Viet nam to supplement her husband’s income. A deeply devout Catholic Christian, Maria was
a member of the Christ the King Nocturnal Adorers (over 40 years), Council of Catholic Women,
and Catholic Mothers Association.
Predeceased by her parents, a younger brother, and a younger sister, Maria is survived
by her husband Kim van Do; 7 children: Lan Snelgrove, Maria Nu (Henry) Nguyen, Paul Ngan,
Joey (Melanie), Khanh Kim, Mai Tuyet, and My (Angela); 5 grandchildren: Kathy (Randy)
Taylor, Michael Nguyen, Peter Nguyen, Paul Nguyen, and Stella Sophia Do; 2 great
grandchildren: Abigail and Audrey Taylor. Maria is also survived by her baby sister, Mau (Hai)
Ngo of Atlanta, numerous nieces and nephews of Atlanta, Pensacola, and Miami, FL.
Maria's family will be receiving friends on Friday May 24, 2019 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Christ the King Church 742 Arlington Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32211. The rosary service will begin at 6:30 pm.
Mass will be celebrated by Father James Boddie the following morning on Saturday May 25, 2019 at 10 am at Christ the King Church 742 Arlington Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32211. A reception will follow celebration at the church.
Her family will reconvene at Greenlawn Cemetery 4300 Beach Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32207 for a committal service at 2pm.
Maria Hoa thi Do will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
