Maria Lucia Fagnani

December 13, 1951 – August 14, 2025
Obituary of Maria Lucia Fagnani
IN THE CARE OF

Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel & Oaklawn Cemetery

Maria Lucia Fagnani was born on December 13, 1951, in Villalfonsina, Italy, where she was baptized by her uncle, Don Donato Rollo. At the age of two, she and her mother, Carolina Orlandi, joined her father, Vito Orlandi, in Brazil. It was there that Maria Lucia received her First Communion and Confirmation and spent her early childhood.

At fourteen, she moved once again—this time to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—with her mother and brother, as her father had already established residence in the United States. Maria Lucia attended Most Blessed Sacrament School and graduated from West Catholic High School for Girls.

In 1985, she married the love of her life, Domenico Vito Fagnani. Together, Maria Lucia and Vito ran a beloved delicatessen in West Philadelphia for over twenty years. The store became more than a business—it was a place where friendships were formed, stories were shared, and memories were made. Maria Lucia welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on all who met her.

She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She treasured time spent with family, enjoyed traveling, and had a fondness for a little gambling fun. Her vibrant spirit, generosity, and loving nature touched many lives.

Maria Lucia was called to eternal rest on August 14, 2025. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her brother, Beniamino Orlandi, along with her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-nieces, and all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Domenico Vito Fagnani; her parents, Vito and Carolina Orlandi; and her nephews, Paul Orlandi and Daniel Orlandi.

May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of those she loved.
