A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Marian dedicated her life to creating a warm, welcoming, and loving home. As a devoted homemaker, her family was her greatest pride, and her care was the foundation of her household.
Marian was deeply rooted in her community and spent many years nurturing both her faith and friendships. She was a long-time, faithful member of the Church of Our Saviour in Mandarin, where she found great fellowship and peace. Her love for beauty, nature, and community life was also reflected in her many years as a dedicated member of the Mandarin Garden Club.
Marian is now reunited with her beloved husband, Toby Hickox, who preceded her in death 30 years ago; her dear brother, Andy Sperlanes; and her son-in-law, Jeff Burkhart.
She is survived by her three loving daughters and their families:
• Elizabeth H. Taylor and her husband, Rob Taylor; her grandson, Brooks Taylor; and her great-granddaughter, Parker Taylor.
• Annette H. Burkhart; her granddaughter, Christy Revels; her great-granddaughter, Lilly Revels; her grandson, Cory Burkhart; her great-grandson, Pierce Burkhart; and her great-granddaughter, Amelia Burkhart.
• Suzanne Mandler and her husband, William Mandler; her grandson, Kyle Mandler; and her great-granddaughter, Charlotte Mandler.
For nearly a century, Marian’s long life was defined by her feisty spirit, her steadfast love, and the deep roots she planted in her Florida community. Her presence will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and fellow club and church members.
