She later enrolled in the MBA program at Nova Southeastern, to pursue a career in conflict resolution. Shelley was preceeded in death by her husband, John Michael Atnip, and now joins him in heaven. She leaves behind her loving family: son Skyler Atnip (Susan); daughter’s Angela Baxley (James) and Marie Moon ( Al ); son Matthew Atnip (Sheena); and her grandchildren Joseph Atnip, Jessica Atnip, Katelyn Baxley, and Liam Atnip, and step- grandchildren Benjamin Baxley and Will Moon. She is now resting in His presence, and we are comforted by Psalm 91:11: “For He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” She was a loving mother and role model, always encouraging us to live with kindness, caring, and above all, faith. Her legacy will continue in our hearts.
A service to celebrate her life and faith will be held on Friday January 16, 2026, at 1:00 pm at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 2140 St. Johns Bluff Road Jacksonville, FL 32246.
